Under the lights of Friday night, there will be a battle in Austin. A battle of undefeated teams-Westlake vs Austin Bowie.

Austin Bowie Bulldogs

Bowie is 5-0 on the season, scoring 38 points per game on offense. But they are dominant on defense. They have allowed their opponents to score a mere 9 points per contest.

They are somewhat balanced on offense, tilting the scales a little more on the run side, but not by much. The Bulldogs have passed for 982 yards and 10 touchdowns while rushing for 1082 yards and 15 touchdowns.

QB Conner Kenyon runs the offense. He has passed for 880 yards and nine touchdowns, with 2 INTs.

RB Noah Camacho has rushed for 568 yards and 5 touchdowns, and WR Cash Peters has caught 23 passes for 376 yards and 3 touchdowns.

That dominant defense has produced 359 tackles, 22.5 sacks, 4 INTs, 5 fumble recoveries, and 8 forced fumbles. You can’t single out just one player, the entire unit stands out.

Austin Westlake Chaparrals

The Chaps are dominant on both sides of the ball. They are scoring 53 points per game and averaging 483 yards per contest. They have allowed just 12 points per game scored against them.

The offense is led by QB Cade Klubnik, who has thrown for 1317 yards and 19 touchdowns, and 2 INTs, and he has added 5 rushing yards.

Klubnik is a 5-star recruit, according to 247sports, and is committed to Clemson. In five games so far this season, Klubnik has passed for over 300 yards three times.

In the run game, RB Hunter Henault is the leader. He has rushed for 542 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns, plus one receiving touchdown.

Klubnik’s favorite target is Jaden Greathouse, who has caught 23 passes for 436 yards and six touchdowns.

On the defense, Will Courtney and Carter Barksdale have combined for 68 tackles and six tackles for loss.

Who will win?

Bowie hasn’t had much luck against Westlake, going just 4-13 against them since 2004. They lost last year’s matchup 45-7. The last time the Bulldogs beat the Chaps was in 2014, a 19-13 victory.

Does Bowie get a win over Westlake for the first time in eight years, or does Westlake add another notch in their win column against the Bulldogs? Leave a comment below.
