Late last night, the Vikings signed Latavius Murray, who has spent the last four years with the Raiders. This means that Adrian Peterson, who has been the bell cow for the Vikings for many years, is likely on the way out.
Latavius Murray has been excellent in the running game for the Raiders over the past couple years, so there might not much room for Peterson in terms of meaningful carries anymore. Peterson hasn’t been traded yet and he hasn’t been released, but everyone is very much seeing the writing on the wall.
There wasn't a thought in my mind to try and wear or ask for the #28. I have too much respect… https://t.co/sJDEYbPfEs

Peterson is old, and his knees are more or less beaten to a pulp. There’s a chance his career could just be over outright. If he does get traded or picked up, there’s also a chance that he doesn’t start right away. Peterson was fantastic, but he’s beginning to get old.
