Aledo Bearcats: Looking for a 3rd Consecutive State Title
The Bearcats of Aledo are 8-0 on the season, are scoring 52 points per game on offense, and are looking for their third consecutive 5A state championship.

Aledo runs a balanced offense, passing for 218 yards (24 TDs) and rushing for 212 yards (27 TDs). QB Brayden-Fowler Nicolosi leads the offense on the field. He has passed for 1338 yards, 17 touchdowns, 1 INT. He is a 3-star prospect that is committed to Nevada, according to 247sports.
The leader in the ground game is RB Ryan Williams. He has gained 685 yards rushing and scored 11 touchdowns. Another key contributor in the rushing attack is Connor Smith, who has rushed for 422 yards and six touchdowns. He averages almost a first down on every carry (9 yards).
Nicolosi’s key targets are Hauss Hejny (20 catches, 553 yards, 6 TDs) and Brian Fleming (31 catches, 566 yards, six TDs).
On defense, the Bearcats have allowed only 12 points per game. They have pitched two shutouts this season: 64-0 vs Arlington Heights and 55-0 vs Joshua.
The defense is led by Davhon Keys (50 tackles, 4 TFLs, 2 sacks, and 3 INTs) and Cap Mooney (37 tackles, 8 TFLs, and 2 sacks).
Last week in a 65-14 win vs Waco University High, the Bearcats racked up 58 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, and intercepted three passes. As a unit, Aledo has made 432 tackles, 16 sacks, 11 INTs, 52 tackles for loss, and recovered seven fumbles.
The Bearcats have won back-to-back 5A state championships, in 2019 and 2020.
This week, Aledo takes on Seguin. The Bearcats have a 4-0 record against Seguin, including three straight (2018-2020).
