Allen is moving on, beating DeSoto for the fourth consecutive year in the postseason.
And it doesn’t get much closer than this one.
The Eagles, ranked No. 2 in the Super 25 and three-time Texas state champions, won 41-40 Friday at AT&T Stadium in Arlington in the 6A-I bi-district playoffs. For Allen, the victory was win No. 55 in a row.
DeSoto rallied from a 14-point deficit but a missed an extra point with about four minutes remaining was the difference. DeSoto’s last drive stalled at the Allen 44-yard line.
A field goal by DeSoto tied the game at 27-27 before quarterback Seth Green had his star turn.
