On Friday night two Texas powerhouses clashed at McKinney ISD stadium, as the Allen Eagles, who are on a hot streak after losing the first two games this season, took on the McKinney Lions, who are undefeated and dominating every team that comes their way.

McKinney Quarterback Godspower Nwawuihe started the game strong as he completed a 69-yard touchdown pass to Xavier Filsaime on the first drive of the game. Nwawuihe completed 4 of 9 passes for 113 yards on the night and rushed for 42 yards on 9 carries. Nwawuihe connected with receivers Khristian Mackintrush one time for 23 yards and Khali Best, who had one reception for 13 yards. As the Lions were struggling through the air, the run game was not prospering either. Xavier Filsaime carried the rock once for 24 yards and Bryan Jackson only gained 7 yards on 4 carries.
Allen Eagles
Quarterback Brady Bricker completed 10 of 13 passes for 85 yards and rushed for 53 yards, finding the endzone once. He connected with Donnell Gee for 30 yards on 2 receptions, Quinton Hammonds one time for 21 yards, and Messiah Washington, who had 2 catches for 15 yards. As the Eagles tried to regain their dominance in the air, they showed if the air doesn’t work, they will run the ball down the gut of the defense. Micah Ellis rushed for 105 yards on 16 carries, and Amir McDowell powered through the Lions racking up 73 yards on 14 touches, finding the endzone twice. After the only McKinney score of the game, the Eagles defense, led by Zina Umeozulu and Drew King, dominated the Lions by forcing punts and creating turnovers.
Allen takes down Mckinney 31-7.
Next week Allen returns to Eagle stadium to take on the Denton Guyer Wildcats, who are coming off a 56-28 win over Denton Braswell. The McKinney Lions will travel to Prosper ISD stadium to take on Rock Hill, who are coming off a 38-17 win against the Little Elm Lobos, who are still looking for their first win this season.
