Do you remember last year, when the NFL announced that it would stream its Thursday night games on Twitter? The same thing is happening again this year, except the company streaming them will be Amazon.
NFL and Amazon reach one-year streaming deal for about $50 million https://t.co/hsH2Xj40XA w/ @jbflint

Now, you’ll need an Amazon Prime account to stream the games, which comes in at a $99 per year cost. The games will also be available on other sources, including regular cable TV, so your best option will likely be to retain your cable deal unless you already have Amazon Prime, or have already cut cable.
The struggle with the Thursday Night Football games is that for the most part, they’ve had little bearing on the playoff race, and haven’t been very high quality. This, of course, is completely on the NFL to change the scheduling. If the games that are offered on Thursday nights become more meaningful, I can see this becoming very profitable for both sides, but if the quality stays the course it won’t be as good.
