Arlington Key Players and Storylines

It was a weird feeling in Colts country in 2025. Arlington missed the playoffs for just the fifth time in its 23 years under Scott Peach and for the first time since 2014.

That has not dampened expectations at all. Peach believes this will be both the most athletic team and the strongest team in the trenches that Arlington has had in several years.

When it comes to athleticism offensively, the receiver room is where to look. Kason Brown is a Division I prospect who earned District Newcomer of the Year last season after finishing with 800 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. Peach also has high expectations for senior Jackson Nelson operating out of the slot.

Dual-threat quarterback Canon Cambron is sliding into the starting role this year after playing some receiver last year. It will help to have senior center Chris Burns, who is expected to lead the offensive line, to help orchestrate the protection in front of him.

Defensively, the Colts are stacked with playmakers on the back end. Boston College commit Samajai Davis (24 tackles and two INTs) has great length at 6’1″ and should give opposing quarterbacks headaches with fellow corner Jacob Batiste (36 tackles and four INTs). Behind them, safety AJ Payne will lead the defense from the back end, while linebacker Luis Mendoza, last year’s leading tackler, will need to star in a linebacking corps that lacks experience.

Arlington only had four losses last year and two were by one possession. Peach expects a quick turnaround with not only a playoff berth, but playoff victories as well this fall.
