This is the best matchup of week 9 The Atascocita Eagles (7-0) vs The C.E King Panthers (6-1) will take place Saturday night on October 21st, 2023. Both teams have accomplished tremendous feats this season during week 2 Atascocita beat the notorious Katy Tigers and C.E King beat The Allen Eagles one of the best teams in Texas. Because of these wins both teams are highly ranked in Houston Atascocita is #1 and C.E. King is #6.
C.E King’s major success is due to their quarterback #1 Darius Clark-James he has a terrific throwing arm currently having almost 1,700 passing yards in 7 games and 16 touchdown passes. Darius is not afraid to run the ball he has about 300 rushing yards and rushed in for 3 touchdowns. Darius’ main target is wide receiver #0 Vincent Jones he is a quick and knowledgeable receiver able to get off any defensive coverage.
Atascocita has a couple of new additions to varsity football this season. Klein Forest transfer wide receiver #2 Jelani Watkins is one of the fastest athletes I have ever seen play high school football. This is a result of his success in track and field. A shocking performance from sophomore running back #14 Cardae Mack was a big contributor in the Katy game and has been throughout this season. Returning athletes to the varsity quarterback #1 Zion Brown and running back #5 Tory Blaylock have also been leaving their mark on the field. With all these offensive weapons and a great offensive line to boot it’s no wonder they’re currently #1 in Houston.
This game will come down to C.E. King having the defense to stop Atascocita’s overwhelming offense. The Panthers have a strong defense, but it will be tough to stop The Eagles offense that averages 40 points a game. No matter who wins this showdown it’ll be one spectacular showcase.
