San Marcos and Austin Bowie faced off in the rain for the District 14-6A title which ended up being a 59-7 clobbering given out by the Bulldogs and extending San Marco’s drought of a district title since 2003. Despite the rainfall the Bowie Bulldogs were able to find the end zone just fine which is something the Rattlers were only able to accomplish once.

After the first quarter the game was still well within reach for the Rattlers, only down 3-0. The Bulldogs then hit their stride on offense, reeling off multiple big runs to open up the game in the second. After the halftime whistle sounded, Bowie was in full control with a 24-0 lead heading to the locker room. The second half was more of the same, with Bowie tacking on points and San Marcos struggling on both ends of the field.

Due to key injury precautions the Rattlers were not at full force this misty November night, San Marcos surely is looking ahead to the playoffs and taking health as a bigger priority than district titles.

Bowie now has the momentum of a convincing win to close out the 2016 campaign, giving the Bulldogs plenty of confidence heading into the playoffs. Both the Rattlers and Bulldogs look to have deep playoff runs, as long as both teams stay healthy and continue to click on offense they should be excited about the first round.
