David L. Phillips

David grew up in West Texas where he excelled in many sports. He was a standout high school athlete for the Bronte Longhorns. Graduating in 1986, David learned the value of discipline and teamwork under legendary football coach Gerald Sandusky and legendary basketball coach Rocky Rawls. He played tight-end and punter on the Longhorn football team and led his basketball team in scoring and rebounding. You won’t find any other place that exemplifies the passion of high school football more than West Texas. He received scholarship offers from Angelo State University for golf and Tarleton State University for basketball. He took 4th medalist in the state golf tournament here at our own Lions Municipal GC. While in college, his entrepreneurial spirit took over as he began working in the construction and roofing business in the early 1990’s. Having owned many businesses, David has a broad perspective that allows him to contribute in countless ways towards all his endeavors. He is the owner of Kbella Media, LLC and operates the website www.TexasHSFootball.com. The website has over 10 million visitors and over 25 million social media post views annually. The Austin based marketing firm also publishes a championship edition magazine that covers all UIL and TAPPS State Football Champions. Beyond this, David serves as President/CEO of Ja-Mar Roofing & Sheet Metal, one of Austin’s oldest locally owned roofing businesses. He is owner of Mid-Town Properties, a private real estate investment company that has bought and sold over 150 properties. His community involvement is not lacking either as he has been a board member of several associations and networking groups including Austin Chamber of Commerce, Kyle/Buda Chamber of Commerce, Roofing Contractors Association of Texas, and Vistage Group. In his spare time David enjoys golf, music and is known to be quite the foodie. However, he is most proud of his family his wife Jacque, daughters Kenedee and Isabella, and granddaughter Brilee.
