The Bellville community is mourning this week following the death of Zach Hood. Hood’s sister, Shantel, posted a Facebook live video describing losing her younger brother to a car accident on Sunday, July 19. Hood’s family is planning a visitation for Friday to honor him with one last “Friday night lights”.
Max Preps has Hood listed as an outside linebacker and a kicker for the Bellville Brahmas where he helped to lead the team to a 7-3 record in the 2019 season. Hood was headed into his senior year.
Bellville’s head coach, Grady Rowe, also shared the news of this tragic loss via Twitter:
Last night we lost a Brahma Family member. Zach Hood was a leader on and off the field. His BIG smile was contagious. He was always in a good mood, always willing to help others out, and we will ALWAYS remember him. Please pray for his family, teammates, coaches, and friends.
