The storyline this year is if Denton Guyer can avenge their lopsided 51-17 loss last year at the hands of DeSoto. This time around Guyer will have some offensive firepower returning from last year’s team that hopes to be the advantage for them this time around. A great Thursday night matchup between two powerhouse programs.

Frisco Lone Star vs. Mansfield Timberview (9/8) Mansfield’s Vernon Newsom Stadium

Timberview is looking to be a shaping up well defensively which will definitely be of help come their game against Frisco Lone Star who tallied up 10 wins last year, and looks to once again tally up big numbers on offense.

Mesquite Poteet vs Denton Ryan 9/8 Denton’s C.H. Collins Athletic Complex

Two teams that are looking for nothing less than a state title in 2017 and this matchup looks to bring some hard-nosed football.

A matchup that pits one of the best teams the Houston area has to offer against one of the best teams the Dallas-Fort Worth area has to offer. A region versus region that always brings a healthy dose of competition between state areas.

Waxahachie vs Highland Park (9/8) Highland Park

Waxahachie hopes to reload and get back to the playoffs after stumbling to the finish line last year and there is no way better to test their strength against the defending 5A DI state champions.

Jesuit vs Plano East (9/9) Cotton Bowl

The 2017 Cotton Bowl Prep Showcase will be hosting four games that weekend and the 6A highlight of the showcase will have Plano East taking on Jesuit in what is sure to be a football frenzy that weekend.
