Evan Jitjaeng of Big Sandy is the Texas HS Football Week 5 Fan Vote Player of the Week!

The Wildcats standout delivered a school-record seven rushing touchdowns in a 62-7 win over Hemphill on September 25. Jitjaeng finished with 181 yards on 21 carries, averaging 8.6 yards per attempt.

With that performance, he broke the six-touchdown school record shared by David Overstreet and Bobby Mitchell. Meanwhile, his impact extended to defense, where he recorded three tackles, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery.

For Big Sandy, the victory improved its record to 3-2 and marked a second consecutive win. After beating Boles 56-20 the previous week, the Wildcats have outscored their last two opponents 118-27. Following a bye this week, Big Sandy hosts Detroit on October 9 to open district play.

Jitjaeng also brings a championship background beyond football. Earlier this year, he won the Class 2A state pole vault title with a record-setting clearance of 17 feet, 1.5 inches.

In this week’s fan vote, Dylan Snoga of Cedar Ridge finished second. Ayden Fernandez of San Antonio Reagan, Matthew Ramirez of Eastwood, Marshall Kenner of Cibolo Steele and Ernest Smith of San Antonio Roosevelt followed.

Congratulations to Evan Jitjaeng and the Big Sandy Wildcats!
