Breaking News: Head Coach and OC Quit Mid-Season
Big news in the Texas high school football news.
After winning the 5A Division 1 State Championship last year, and moving up to 6A, Katy Paetow will be looking for their third Head Coach in the past year.
The story was broken on Twitter by Dennis Silva II, a writer with VYPE Houston, and confirmed by multiple sources. While many of the details are not yet clear, Paetow Head Coach Lonnie Teagle has resigned. The Paetow Offensive Coordinator Trey Payne also resigned, but it is reported that it is unrelated to the reason(s) why Teagle resigned.
The new interim Head Coach is David Hicks Sr., the father of the #1 ranked player in Texas, David Hicks Jr.
Paetow, though moving up to 6A, had big expectations for the season, but are currently 3-3 and 2-3 in district play. Though, this resignation is a surprise. And, Paetow has already removed Teagle from their website. There is likely a lot more to this story to come out soon.
