Bridgeland Key Players and Storylines
2026 brings uncharted waters for Bridgeland. The Bears will play in Region III for the first time in program history.
A year ago, the Bears finished second in District 16-6A with two losses by a combined ten points. Head coach Lonnie Madison expects them to be stronger this year especially with seven returning starters on offense.
They should be able to move the ball on the ground with UNLV commit Kash Schwab (1,421 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns), who has averaged 9.1 yards per carry across his career. He should have plenty of room to run behind an offensive line led by 6’2″, 295-pound Baylor commit Chase Allen and 6’4″, 295-pound Sam Houston commit Austin Holcomb.

Defensively, the Bears graduated eight starters, but the secondary should remain a strength. Braiden Graves (97 tackles, seven sacks) is heavily involved from his safety position, while fellow safety Cam Buchanan (58 tackles, five INTs) is a proven ballhawk after leading the district in interceptions a year ago. Up front, defensive end Regan Fodje is a powerful presence off the edge.
Madison noted this year’s group has a great blend of experience in key spots and young talent ready to step up as well. With four-straight top two district finishes, expect Bridgeland to be in the mix at the top of District 23-6A.
