The Bridgeland Bears secured the District 16-6A championship with a dramatic 28-24 win over Cypress Woods at Cy-Fair FCU Stadium. Senior quarterback Jett Lewis played a pivotal role, leading three scoring drives, including a clutch 25-yard touchdown pass to Kash Schwab with 1:20 remaining to seal the victory. Lewis showcased his versatility, throwing for 130 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for a team-high 44 yards on eight carries. His ability to convert crucial third downs kept Bridgeland’s offense moving when it mattered most.

The win capped an impressive regular season for the Bears, who finished 9-1 overall and a perfect 7-0 in district play under head coach Lonnie Madison. Bridgeland’s two-quarterback system, featuring Lewis and junior Tyler Begeal, proved effective throughout the season, with each player contributing unique strengths to the team’s success. With this victory, the Bears turn their focus to the playoffs, seeking redemption after last year’s narrow first-round loss to Klein Cain. Their balanced offense and cohesive team dynamic position them as strong contenders for a deep postseason run.
