Bronte ISD has voted to move to the six-man football ranks. 2017 will be their last year playing 11 man football.

The Longhorns went 5-5 in 2016, struggling against top area teams but pummeling struggling teams. They did not make the playoffs.
As Texas grows more metropolitan and people continually move to suburbs, there’s a good chance that there will be a lot more of this happening. Texas as a whole is growing, but the growth is largely happening in big cities, as we can see by new high schools opening up in Frisco and Katy.
