Cedar Ridge Key Players and Storylines
Cedar Ridge didn’t quite make it back to the playoffs in Bryan Vardeman’s first season, but the Raiders did finish .500 for the first time in four years.
However, with 13 returning starters this fall, Cedar Ridge won’t settle for moral victories. It wants to get back to the dance.
The offense is in good hands with dual-threat quarterback Dylan Snoga (1,493 passing yards and 207 rushing yards). The Raiders did graduate a 1,400-yard rusher but bruising senior Devin Patterson is ready to step into the number one role. He’s also a pass catching threat out of the backfield.

Up front, the Raiders have a rock at tackle in 6’4”, 290-pound senior Caleb Phillips.
Defensively, the Raiders are chock full of playmakers. Linebacker/safety Ayden Brown (75 tackles, seven TFLs) is their leading returning tackler and three-year starter linebacker Power Wallis (62 tackles, seven TFLs) is right behind him in the tackling department with his “nose for the football.” In the secondary, defensive back Trent Bell is a ballhawk who led the district with three interceptions in 2025, while physical defensive end Alex Nelson (25 tackles, nine TFLs) will be a threat off the edge with his “get off.”
With so much talent, Vardeman believes the Raiders are poised to take a step forward this fall. The offense averaged 36 points per game in 2025, so Cedar Ridge’s playoff hopes will likely hinge on the defense improving upon the 39 points per game it allowed a year ago.
