Central Texas 6A Powerhouses Collide Tonight between Lake Travis and Westlake

| | , ,

In the matchup dubbed “The Battle of the Lakes” Westlake travels to Cavalier Stadium to take on their rivals Lake Travis. Both teams have been at the top of District 25, and region, for the better part of the last decade of high school football.

However, the last couple of years, it’s been Lake Travis who has had the better outcomes; with the exception of their last two matchups. Dating back to 2008 Lake Travis has gone 10-4 against the Chaparrals.

Tonight’s game will be about if Westlake’s defense can do what they did last year to Lake Travis, put a boa constrictor type hold on the Lake Travis offense.

Coming in to tonight’s game Westlake hasn’t allowed more than eight points in any of their five games while posting an astonishing plus-227.

Lake Travis’ offense continues its path of destruction putting up 171 points in their last three games, all district contests. Just like Westlake, Lake Travis has put up an insane point differential at plus-228.

In a game that will determine District 25 supremacy it looks like it will come down to one significant play, and end in an epic fashion.
