Clear Brook has a new head coach, and he brings an impressive resume.
On the heels of Guadalupe Florez’s decision to resign following the Wolverines’ 2-8 season, the program moves forward by hiring John Towels III — Duncanville’s defensive coordinator.
Towels spent four years at Duncanville, helping the Panthers reach the Class 6A, Division I championship game in each of the last two seasons.
Despite the disparity of talent between the teams, Towels should be able to help shore up a Clear Brook defense that allowed 395 points last season. Conversely, Duncanville gave up a mere 157 points in 16 games — 9.8 points per games.
