Clear Creek Finding its Offense, Dominates in 42-16 Win

The season for the Clear Creek Wildcats got off to a tough start, especially on offense.  They dropped their opener to Conroe Oak Ridge, 7-18.  In week 2 against Deer Park, the defense did its part again and the offense found the endzone four times to give them a 28-14 win.  In week three for the Wildcats, their offense finally stepped up to match the stellar play of their defense.

Clear Creek put 5 touchdowns on the board against Clute Brazoswood, and the defense added a touchdown of their own on a 66-yard pick-six by Daqari Tuckson.  The Wildcats scored touchdowns on their first three possessions, including a 71 yard opening drive that was capped off by a Cody Raboin’s 19-yard  touchdown pass to David Dry.   They took a 42-3 lead and held on to win 42-16.

The Wildcats are coming off back to back 4 win seasons.  At 2-1, with six games left on their regular-season schedule, they look like a lock to surpass 4 wins and they might be a team that will upset a few teams this year.  Their next game is against Clear Brook on October 23rd.  The Clear Brook Wolverines are 2-0 on the season and play Clear Lake tonight.

The Brazoswood Buccaneers dropped their second straight game, falling to 1-2.  They won their season opener against Santa Fe, 13-10, but dropped their second game to Baytown Sterling, 16-19. They are coming off of an 0-10 season, and despite the 42-16 loss to Clear Creek, they do look like they have improved and they should be able to grab some more wins this season.  Their next game is against Pasadena Memorial on October 15th.
