Clear Creek Key Players and Storylines
Clear Creek’s past two seasons followed nearly identical scripts. The Wildcats knocked off Channelview in non-district play and Clear Brook and Clear Lake in district play, but 3-7 campaigns won’t satisfy a program that won a playoff game in 2023.
Dwayne Lane and company will have visions of getting back to the postseason. If the Wildcats are to do that, they’re going to have to move the ball on the ground as they replace their starting quarterback. Never fear. Senior running backs Luke Rose (653 all-purpose yards and seven touchdowns) and J’Shon Parks are poised to form a one-two punch this fall.

Defensively, defensive end Jake Roberts is the lone returning all-district player from Clear Creek’s 2025 team. The Wildcats also have good size in the secondary with safety Brayden Lane as well as safety Seth Saxton, who missed a good chunk of 2025 due to injury.
Four of Clear Creek’s five district losses came by 30 or more points last year, so the Wildcats have plenty of progress to make to get back into playoff contention. After graduating several key seniors, it will be up to the next crop of Wildcats to step up if they want to turn some heads this fall.
