Clear Falls Key Players and Storylines

Clear Falls keeps chugging along under head coach Zach Head. The Knights have now made the playoffs the past seven years. In the previous seven years before that, they made it to the postseason just once.

This year, the goal is to climb further up the district standings. A third place finish last year earned them a date with eventual state runner-up C.E. King in the first round.

The Knights will need to figure out their quarterback situation after both players who got reps last year graduated. There are no such question marks at receiver with speedster Chase Rieman (443 receiving yards and three touchdowns) and reliable 6’2” target Graysonn Sneed (428 receiving yards and six touchdowns). Both are poised for expanded roles this season. In the trenches, 6’4”, 245-pound tackle Hunter Brierty will lead the way.

Defensively, Tristan Gaviria (124 tackles, 13 TFLs) and Briggs Worthington (123 tackles, 17 TFLs) are both tackling machines and great leaders at linebacker. Behind them, Mario Cresta (19 tackles) “brings a physical presence” from his safety position. He’ll need to be a force in what will be an inexperienced secondary.

Five returning starters on both sides of the ball give the Knights a good platform to build on. An eighth-straight playoff berth will be the minimum expectation as Clear Falls hopes to push itself into the district title conversation this fall.
