College Park Key Players and Storylines
History was made at College Park in 2025. For the first time in program history, the Cavaliers advanced to the third round of playoffs until last season.
That success evidently caught the eye of Atascocita, who hired away Cavalier head coach Kyle Coats over the offseason.
Stepping in is Michael Buro, who was most recently the offensive coordinator at San Antonio Johnson, another program on the rise.
Buro will be excited about the weapons he has offensively led by three-year starter quarterback Camden Hughes (2,648 passing yards and 36 touchdowns). He’ll have a shifty one-two punch at running back alongside him with “Swiss army knife” Duke Stephens (982 rushing yards and seven touchdowns) and “gamebreaker” Antonio Booker (709 rushing yards and ten touchdowns).
When Hughes does look to throw, he’s got plenty of size to aim for. 6’4″ receiver Julian Cromartie (824 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns) is a Clemson commit and 6’3″ tight end Brian Snodgrass (523 receiving yards and nine touchdowns) has the athleticism to make plays. Fellow tight end James Skaer moves in from Oak Ridge. He’ll be both an “aggressive blocker in the run game” and a target in the passing attack as well.
College Park comes out of the half with 14 straight points. Camden Hughes puts this on one Julian Cromartie.

Defensively, Buro expects the Cavaliers to be explosive. Offensive lines are going to be in for a long night trying to contain four-star defensive end R.J. Wyms (30 tackles, 19 TFLs), the pure power of 6’2″, 300-pound defensive tackle Jordyn Grant (21 tackles, seven TFLs), and Navy commit defensive end Lucas Richard (31 tackles, 10 TFLs).
Behind the trenches, linebacker Brandon Clayburgh (54 tackles) can go sideline to sideline. Cornerback Jordan White (18 tackles, one INT) has the talent to go on islands with receivers, while James Cabarrus (35 tackles, five TFLs) has the speed and versatility to slot in both at cornerback and safety.
On special teams, the Cavaliers also have a weapon in kicker Beckett Cocke, who was named a Kohl’s All-American.
The Cavaliers have quite the platform to build on after last year’s history-making run. It took eventual 6A Division II state champion DeSoto to send College Park home a year ago. This year, it will likely take a special effort again to knock off the Cavs as they set their sights on even more program history.
