Coppell Key Players and Storylines
Coppell is ready to ride in 2026. The Cowboys have won at least a playoff game the past three seasons and have 15 returning starters this fall.
They also have a bona fide star at quarterback in junior Carter Zingelmann (1,865 passing yards, 754 rushing yards, 30 total TDs). He’s a dual threat who is regarded as a four-star prospect. Alongside him, junior running back Jayden George (698 rushing yards and nine touchdowns) is ready to make the jump and be Coppell’s bell cow this year, while receiver Jacob Anene has “top end athleticism” and led the Cowboys with 536 receiving yards in 2025.

Defensively, the Cowboys feature another difference maker in cornerback Jaden Bibbs. He also holds double digit Division I offers. In the front seven, inside linebacker Madden Montague is the “quarterback of the defense” and led the Cowboys with 98 tackles last year. Explosive defensive lineman Aaron Isbell (60 tackles, nine sacks) will be Coppell’s premier pass rushing threat.
Coppell’s coaching staff said their recent success has come from an approach of just taking it one week at a time. Their experience will help them stay dialed in during the regular season as they look to peak in November and push for some more Thanksgiving football.
