For the third consecutive season, a former five-star cornerback will enter the transfer portal.
Former North Shore graduate and current UTSA starter Denver Harris is looking to join his fourth team in his collegiate career.
Harris took to social media to make the announcement:
I want to start by thanking the entire UTSA family for allowing me the opportunity to continue to play the game that I love. After much consideration and discussions with my family, I have decided to enter into the transfer portal.

Initially, Harris started with the Texas A&M Aggies, recording 14 tackles and three pass deflections. However, following a midseason suspension, Harris promptly migrated to LSU, posting an underwhelming seven tackles and two pass deflections. Again, he worked the portal, ending up with UTSA. With the Roadrunner, Harris shined, managing 16 tackles and three pass deflections, and helping the team win only their second Bowl victory in school history.
Now, it’ll be his fourth school in four years; he currently has one more year of eligibility left.
The transfer portal seems to be increasingly popular these days, with three of the four Heisman hopefuls finding their footing with new squads.
Harris joins San Augustine graduate Kevorian Barnes as former Lone Star State athletes that will be bailing from the UTSA program over the offseason.
In his time at North Shore, under coach John Kay, Harris was an Under Armour All-American that led his school to the Class 6A D-I state championship in his senior season. As a sophomore, he also reached the state title game.
