As an Oklahoma Sooner, Cedarian “CeeDee” Lamb (Richmond Foster) became accustomed to winning rivalry games and Big 12 Championships in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Now he’ll have a chance to help America’s Team back to prominence.
The Dallas Cowboys selected Lamb with the No. 17 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft on Thursday.
In Lamb the Cowboys added another explosive wide receiver to line up opposite of Amari Cooper for quarterback Dak Prescott to target.
Lamb was one of the best player in a conference full of playmakers and offenses that lit up the scoreboard. He finished with 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns and earned Big 12 Championship Game MVP honors. He was one of OU’s only bright spots a lopsided CFP loss to eventual National Champ LSU after hauling in 119 yards on four catches. Lamb had 98 receptions for 2,032 yards and 33 touchdowns during his senior season at Foster.
The Cowboys went 8-8 in 2019 and Lamb becomes the second Texas High School Football alum drafter in 2020 after the Detroit Lions took Ohio State defensive back Jeff Okudah (South Grand Prairie) with the third overall pick.
