In the aftermath of third-string quarterback Zac Dysert suffering a herniated disk earlier this week, the Dallas Cowboys signed veteran Luke McCown to a one-year, $250,000 deal on Friday, according to multiple reports.
A 14-year veteran, McCown, a Jacksonville, Texas native, was drafted by the Browns in 2004 and has since seen stints with the Buccaneers, Jaguars, Falcons and most recently, the Saints in 2015. McCown signed a two-year, $3 million deal with New Orleans last season before being released this offseason after the Saints signed Chase Daniel.
He’ll now join a quarterback room in Dallas consisting of Dak Prescott, Kellen Moore and rookie Cooper Rush.
McCown has played in 46 career games, completing 216-of-356 passes for 2,370 yards, nine touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
