Crowley Key Players and Storylines

Crowley had to scrape its way into the playoffs a year ago. Now, the Eagles are going to be part of arguably the toughest 6A district in the state joining the likes of Duncanville and Waxahachie.

The good news is belief is high in the Crowley locker room with 12 returning starters. 

Junior quarterback Antwain Griffin is ready to be the Eagles’ full-time field general this fall, while running back Kenyen Cotton had a standout 2025 campaign with 1,383 rushing yards and nine touchdowns. They’ve got a giant leading the way in the trenches in 6’6”, 315-pound tackle Alexander Herrera.

Defensively, the Eagles are confident cornerback Amari Bartee has what it takes to go toe-to-toe with the best receivers in the district. In the front seven, Anthony Ainsworth has elite speed from his outside linebacker position, while defensive ends Derrick Ober and Rylon Foster were both second team all-district selections in 2025.

With great speed across the roster, the Eagles aren’t backing down from the new challenge ahead of them this year. Head coach Carlos Lynn has set the bar high, saying this group has what it takes to be a regional contender come December.
