It’s promote-from-within season in the high school coaching search season, and Cy Falls is the latest to keep the continuity flowing. Defensive Coordinator Chris Brister will be the new head coach of the Eagles.

Excited for Cypress Falls, & can't say enough good things about Coach Chris Brister. #ThankYou #EaglePride pic.twitter.com/K0rLrwTfVy

Cy Falls went 2-8 in 2016, but their defense, Brister’s brainchild, was excellent all year. They routinely held teams well under their season averages, and they kept the Eagles in many games.
Brister is a great promotion, not just because he keeps continuity in the program, but because the team’s biggest strength will remain with them for years to come. If Cy Falls can start moving the ball and putting points on the board, they’ll be a dangerous team for years to come.
