Cypress Ridge Key Players and Storylines
Cypress Ridge hasn’t been in Region II since 2009, but the Rams have a brand new district heading into this fall. They slide into District 16-6A to join seven other Cy-Fair ISD schools.
All nine of their losses were by ten points or more last year, but they do have a core to build around offensively this season. The Rams had the third best rushing offense in their district a year ago and playmaking senior running back Grant Gordon was a big reason why. Look for him to run behind 6’2″, 275-pound senior guard Jayden Williams and returning second team all-district guard/tackle Michael Anguiano Martinez.

At quarterback, the Rams will turn to dynamic sophomore Tyler Stewart. 6’2″, 185-pound junior Preslav Dimitrov is a big target he can rely upon in the receiving corps.
Defensively, all four all-district players from last year’s team graduated. Linebacker Adrian Kay is the lone returning all-district honorable mention on that side of the ball from last fall.
The Rams certainly have the personnel to move the ball on the ground again this season. However, if they’re to make a jump in the win column, they’ll need players to step up and lead a defense that allowed over 41 points per game a year ago.
