Prime Time is in the prime time for the third straight time!
As the offensive coordinator for Trinity Christian of Cedar Hill, Deion Sanders, with his son Shedeur Sanders at quarterback, have won back-to-back-to-back TAPPS Private and Parochial Schools state championships.
For the pair, these championship runs are not by chance.
With the phenomenon known as elite 7v7 football, Sanders formed his own special unit several years ago known as “Prime Truth”. For TC-Cedar Hill, and the Sanders group, developing the skills of Shedeur begins early in the Spring, as 7v7 tournaments start as early as late January.
During the spring and summer, the Sanders crew, along with select others from around DFW dominated in the 7v7 circuits, both regionally and nationally.
That domination continued to flow into their 2019 season at Trinity Christian.
Shedeur shined this fall, only a junior, having thrown for over 3,000 yards and 44 touchdowns. The youngest Sanders has impressive career stats, entering the game on Friday night with 8,726 passing yards, 120 touchdowns and just 19 interceptions.
It’s easy to see why Sanders has picked up 18 Division I FBS offers, including an offer from Florida State, where his dad made his mark and rose to “prime-time” status.
With the announcement of Trinity Christian leaving the TAPPS private school division, and the head coaching vacancy at Florida State, the question is for Deion — are the rumors true?
Deion has been linked to multiple reports that he is a top candidate for the head coaching vacancy at his alma mater. With this statement win and yet another state championship, the rumor mill will only grow stronger as Deion continues to win.
A winning head coach is what Florida State needs if they want to return to the national conversations as a playoff contender.
