DeSoto Wins the Battle of 6A Champions

Round Rock Hail Roof Inspection

On Saturday afternoon, the Duncanville Panthers traveled to play the Desoto Eagles in one of the most anticipated Texas High School football games of the season.

Duncanville Panthers

Keelon Russell led his offense completing 29 of 42 passes for 296 yards and throwing for 2 touchdowns.  Russell also rushed for 16 yards. Russell connected with multiple receivers on the day.  Dakorien Moore had 7 receptions for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns, Zach Turner had 7 catches for 87 yards, Ayson Theus had 7 catches for 57 yards, and Nate Mccoy hauled in 5 catches for 29 yards.  Not only were they effective through the air, but the panthers moved the rock on the ground as well.  Caden Durham was the big rusher as he rushed for 135 yards on 15 carries, scoring twice.

Desoto Eagles

The Eagles came out hot as Darius Bailey completed 17 of 23 passes for 268 yards, throwing for 4 touchdowns and rushing for 20 yards. Bailey’s main connection was receiver Daylon Singleton, who totaled 179 yards on 6 receptions and 2 touchdowns.  Antonio Pride Jr. also got in on the action with 4 receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown, as well as Kristoff Fantroy, who had himself an 11-yard receiving touchdown.  The Eagles showed they could also move the ball on the ground as Marvin Duffey rushed for 96 yards on 25 touches scoring twice.  Jaylin Jones had 74 yards on 15 carries, but never found the endzone.

Desoto stuns Duncanville 49-35.

Next week Desoto will finish their district play as they travel to play Mansfield.  Duncanville will wrap up district play as they take on Mansfield Legacy at home.
