District 4-2AD1 is arguably one of the strongest districts in the state, and it shows with the teams in it

Last year all five teams in this district advanced to the playoffs last year so it will be thrilling to watch who will make the cut this season.

It is no doubt that all teams in the district will have their goal is to make playoffs. Not only playoffs, some teams will also be poised to make deep runs.

Three teams, Forsan, Hawley and Post, finished with undefeated district records in 2015. Hawley and Forsan will be the teams that return experience and could guide them to playoffs runs.

Stamford finished 10-2 last season, facing defeat in the area round of the playoffs. Stamford will look to be the title contenders in the district.

Post drop from 3A to 2A, after having one of the best seasons in school history, will look to have another deep run in 2016. Dual threat quarterback A.J. Escobedo will be under center for the Lopes after throwing 9 TD’s last season.

Anson will have speed and experience returning in 2016, which could see them in the playoffs for a second straight season. Quarterback Cade Baker will be leading the Tigers in a tough district after 22 passing TD’s 2015. Baker will look to receiver Chris Jones, who will also be leading the Anson defense.

This district is filled with tough teams from top to bottom. How tough? Tough enough that all teams in the district are ranked in the THSCA pre-season coaches poll. Every game day will be a gauntlet for all teams in order to reach the playoffs.
