The game scheduled for today between Duncanville and DeSoto has been canceled. Both teams mutually agreed to cancel the game. The reason given was for “safety reasons.” It is believed to be out of precaution as both district seeding is already set. However, this is yet another high profile game that Texas high school football fans were looking forward to that has recently been canceled. Also canceled this week was the game between Lake Travis and Westlake.
Duncanville and DeSoto both end their regular season at 6-1. DeSoto is 5-1 in District 11-6A play while Duncanville is 5-0. The one loss for DeSoto was to Cedar Hill, 42-49. Duncanville beat Cedar Hill two weeks ago, 28-14. The Panther’s one loss was to the nation’s number one team, IMG Academy.
