Another Texas high school football game is coming to your television set. ESPN announced Wednesday that the DeSoto Eagles and South Grand Prairie Warriors will play on Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. on ESPN 2. The matchup features arguably one of the best defensive backs in the country in South Grand Prairie’s safety Jeffery Okudah. For DeSoto, the TCU quarterback commit Shawn Robinson leads the Eagles.
This is the third DFW matchup to feature in the 2016 GEICO ESPN High School Football Showcase. The other matchups take place during the first week and feature Frisco Heritage versus Frisco Lone Star and Bishop Gorman (Nev.) versus Cedar Hill.
7-6A will be one of the most difficult districts to win. It features Desoto, South Grand Prairie, and Cedar Hill. Any of those teams are capable of going on deep playoff runs come November and December. The SGP-Desoto matchup on November 3rd is the last game of the year for both the Eagles and the Warriors, and it will certainly play a large part in the district championship as a whole.
