Texas high school football is getting the national spotlight it deserves. ESPN’s SportsCenter announced it will feature the Lone Star State as part of its “50 States in 50 Days” tour, with a stop scheduled for August 14 at North Crowley High School in Fort Worth.
The cross-country tour is designed to bring SportsCenter directly to fans across America. For 50 consecutive days, ESPN will showcase a different state through a mix of live on-site shows and storytelling segments. Texas takes the stage in mid-August, just in time for the heat of preseason scrimmages and the growing excitement of Friday Night Lights.
When ESPN rolls into town, anchor Hannah Storm will report live from a high-powered scrimmage between two of the state’s top programs: North Crowley and Euless Trinity. Both teams finished the 2024 season ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
North Crowley is coming off a dream season. The Panthers went a perfect 16-0 and claimed the Class 6A Division I state title, earning a No. 6 national ranking. Meanwhile, Euless Trinity finished the season 11-2 and ranked No. 148 in the nation, continuing their tradition of physical, hard-nosed football. With ESPN in the house, this scrimmage will feel more like a playoff game than a preseason tune-up.
