Class 3A in West Texas has featured dominant teams in the past several seasons. With teams like, Shallowater, Muleshoe, Wall, Cisco and many more contenders, Region I will be tough to pick out.

District 1-3A D2 will be tough with defending state champions Canadian grouped with a tough Childress team, a Dimmitt team which is on the up rise after a playoff appearance, Spearman, and Amarillo Highland Park. Canadian could have a tougher road to the title this season with Childress and Spearman in the mix. I think these three teams will be battling it out for the title.

District 3-3A D1 will also be a great title race to watch. Brady, Clyde, Tuscola Jim Ned, and Comanche will be battling it out for the playoff spots. I wouldn’t be surprised if Early on Merkel could jump into the mix to be a four seed in the playoffs as well. Every game will be a must watch on Friday night in this district!

Staying in District 3, Division 2 will be a district to watch with Alpine, Ballinger, Reagan County, San Angelo TLC Academy, and Sonora. Every team in the district made a playoff appearance, with the exception of TLC Academy. The Eagles should not be counted out though after a 7-3 season and I think will be the team to watch to get the second place spot. Like every tough district, every game will be tough. I think Sonora will be the district champ, despite tough opponents. The race will be a tight & entertaining one to keep up with.

District 1-3A Division I will be the toughest district in West Texas with teams like Shallowater, Muleshoe, Littlefield, Friona, Slaton, and Amarillo River Road. Shallowater and Muleshoe renew their rivalry after the playoff meeting last year as it is one of the most anticipated match ups in West Texas. Littlefield will also be in the mix for a district title as well. It is going to be a tough fight but I think Muleshoe should edge out Shallowater for the title. Also, I would not be surprised if Littlefield picked up a win against Shallowater to get the second spot in the district. It will be a fun district to watch this year!

With the new season approaching, fans are full of hope for their team to potentially, have a deep run in the playoffs. Being in these tough districts will require hard work week in and week out to earn a spot but it will be an exciting road to follow!
