A Cigarroa High School football coach has been arrested after calling the cops to report a prostitute took his money.
Last Monday, coach Rolando Ramos contacted the authorities to report a theft. After they arrived at the scene, police confirmed Ramos’ claims and held a brief investigation, before discovering that Ramos was attempting to pay a prostitute for sexual services.
The prostitute apparently pocketed $100 and ran away.
In a statement sent to the Laredo Morning Times, the Laredo Independent School District said:
“LISD immediately placed the employee in question on administrative leave. Disciplinary action is pending the outcome of a local law enforcement investigation.”
LISD also encouraged the community to withhold any conclusions until all the facts of the case were known.
Jail records show Ramos is facing a $2,500 bond for the charge. He was booked and released on the same day.
Records additionally show that Ramos was previously arrested in Rio Bravo in 2009 for a DWI.
Under first-year head coach Arthur Nolen, Cigarroa didn’t win a game last season, posting a 0-10 overall record.
The Laredo-area Toros will kick off their season in Zapata on Aug. 30. Cigarroa hasn’t beat the Hawks since August 2022.
