Fort Worth Paschal got their season off on the right foot at 2-0. Unfortunately for the Panthers, it was tough going from that point on. The Panthers ended 2016 on an eight game losing streak and an 0-7 record that left them at the bottom of the District 4-6A standings . Sometimes,ending up in last place can only leave you with a vast amount of ways to improve and steer towards the right direction.
With the season gone and a new page being written, head coach Matt Miracle will now head into his third season at the helm of the Panthers, looking to lead them to their first playoff berth since 1995 and their first winning season since 1979.
Key Losses
WR Kaylon Geiger, DB Cruz Shope, QB Sam Schaefer
Paschal will be losing some skill players that had a strong presence on the team and were able to lead the fight when adversity came throughout the season.
Key Returners
RB/LB Edwin Allen, RB/LB Edmond Allen, QB/DB Jaylon Robinson
The Allen duo will be beneficial on both sides of the ball and will be the leaders on the team heading into next season. Robinson is an electric playmaker that was voted Special Teams Player of the Year in District 4-6A this past season and the Panthers will lean on him to provide a spark this Paschal team,
Verdict
Paschal still has a ways to go before they can start competing with the upper tier teams in their district and will continue to experience some growing pains. Programs take time to develop and coach Miracle will have to continue to implement a process that will have Paschal battling at a higher level of competition.
Miracle can hopefully get closer to producing his first winning season with the program but patience will truly be a virtue as the Panthers look to get better day by day.
