Frenship Tigers Roar to 41-34 Victory

Round Rock Hail Roof Inspection

On Friday night the Frenship Tigers traveled to San Angelo to take on the SACHS Bobcats in the final district game of the season.

San Angelo Central Bobcats

Quarterback Christian English completed 19 of 34 passes for 207 yards throwing for 2 touchdowns and rushing for 110 yards, scoring 1 touchdown himself. English connected with Colton Hill on 5 receptions for 68 yards, Malik Kates on 4 receptions for 66 yards and a touchdown, and Brayton Sandor, who had a 4-yard receiving touchdown.

While the air game was strong, the Bobcats also moved the ball on the ground, as Tyree Brawley rushed for 58 yards on 10 carries scoring one touchdown.  John Paul Nombrano also rushed for 44 yards on 6 touches.  After giving up 31 points early in the first half, the Bobcats defense came together and only allowed 10 more points as Mason Van Sickle, Zayden Norton, and Seth Mariano flew around the field making plays, combining for 36 tackles in an attempt to slow the high powered Frenship offense.

Frenship Tigers

Tigers quarterback Hudson Hutcheson started hot and never stopped as he completed 31 of 37 passes for 413 yards throwing for 5 touchdowns. Hutcheson connected through the air with Leyton Stone, who racked up 7 receptions for 123 yards scoring 4 times, Chase Campbell, who had 10 receptions for 160 yards scoring once, and Brooks Roberson, who ended with 7 catches for 67 yards.  Thankfully the Tigers were dominant through the air, as the ground game was not going their way.

Running back Luke Cortez rushed for 82 yards on 11 carries, and Jaden Tackett could only muster 12 yards on 5 carries. Despite the Tigers putting up 31 points early, Hudson Hutcheson was able to lead the offense to another 10 crucial points.  The Tigers defense came through in the end, as they held the Bobcats to 34 points, securing the win for the Tigers.

Frenship wins 41-34.

Next Week Frenship starts their playoff run as they travel to Eastwood HS to take on the Eastwood Troopers, who are 9-1 coming off a 56-22 win over Eastlake. Unfortunately, this was the final game of the season for the San Angelo Central Bobcats, and now they start on their game plan for next year to return to the playoffs.
