Friendswood’s Josh Brister Wins Week 6 Player of the Week

Friendswood quarterback Josh Brister is the Texas HS Football Week 6 Fan Vote Player of the Week after one of the closest votes of the season.

Brister earned the honor after a huge performance in Friendswood’s 48-42 win over Iowa Colony. The senior threw for 447 yards and five touchdowns while adding 48 rushing yards and another score. The victory moved Friendswood to 6-0 at the time, its best start since 2019.

The fan vote came down to the wire, with Brister narrowly finishing ahead of Tylan Penright of Klein Collins.

Micah Antoun of Hutto, Jeb Grammer of Amarillo High, Wade Carpenter of O’Connor, Kamryn Harris of Pearland, and Landen Williams-Callis of Richmond Randle were also among the leading vote-getters.

Since that Week 6 performance, Friendswood has improved to 7-0 following a 55-13 win over Pasadena.

Congratulations to Josh Brister, the Friendswood Mustangs, and everyone who voted in another extremely competitive Player of the Week poll.
