East View Key Players and Storylines
Bill Robertson took over East View in 2025 and immediately led the Patriots to their first playoff berth in five years. Now, they’ve got a new challenge this year. 6A football for the first time ever.
The good news for East View is Cedar Park, Leander, and Leander Rouse join 24-6A as well, and the Patriots finished 2-1 against those teams a year ago.
They’ve got a sturdy foundation in the trenches with offensive linemen Austin Cain, Damien Myers, and Lucas Soria all returning. Running back Jayvion Clayter (963 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns) is a next-level back, while receiver Sam Williams (508 receiving yards and four touchdowns) had a breakout sophomore campaign. 6’2”, 200-pound tight end Alejandro Rodriguez is back healthy after missing most of last season due to injury.
Defensively, the Patriots graduated their five leading tacklers from last season. The good news is they have one of the best defensive backs in the area in safety Jalani Culpepper (48 tackles). Defensive end Tre Marshall, a three-year starter, gives East View an experienced pass rushing threat off the edge.

Robertson believes this year’s group will be even stronger than last year’s team after a full offseason under him and his staff. That bodes well as the Patriots look to earn back-to-back playoff appearances even as they make the jump to 6A.
