In 2021, there will be no shortage of productive offensive skill players returning to the gridiron in Class 4A. Below are just a few:

RB Rueben Owens, 5-11, 187, El Campo Ricebirds: A 5-star recruit, Owens is the #2 running back in the Class of 2023, according to 247sports. He was the district 12-4A Offensive MVP in 2020 after rushing for 1511 yards and 22 touchdowns.

El Campo opens the season on August 27 at home vs Gonzales.

RB Johntre Davis, 5-9, 190, El Campo Ricebirds: shared the backfield with Rueben Owens at El Campo. Named the 2020 district 12-4A Co-Offensive MVP after rushing for 1486 yards and 21 touchdowns.

QB E.J. Lopez, 6-1, 170, Andrews Mustangs: Lopez threw for 4174 yards and 46 touchdowns as a sophomore for an 8-4 team. The Mustangs have had a ton of success in the postseason, making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs the last nine years. The Mustangs have won five of the last seven district titles.

Andrews opens the 2021 season on the road against Lubbock Cooper.

QB Brandon Tennison, 5-10, 177, Gilmer Buckeyes: In 2020, Tennison passed 3866 yards, 40 TDs, 18 INTs. He also rushed for 976 yards and 10 scores. He helped lead the Buckeyes to a 14-2 record and was the Class 4A-Div. 2 runner-up.

Gilmer kicks off the 2021 season at home on Thursday, August 26 at 7 pm vs Gladewater.

WR Lonnie Adkism, 6-0, 180, Corpus Christi Miller Buccaneers: The District 15-4A-I Most Valuable Receiver in 2020, Adkism caught 88 passes for 1749 yards and 20 touchdowns. He was named 1st Team 4A All-State by the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA).

The Buccaneers finished 9-5 last season and scored a ton of points. They scored 80 points once, 70+ points five times (twice in the playoffs), 60+ points three times, and 50 points twice. CC Miller lost to Austin LBJ in the 4A Regional Finals 59-54.

The Buccaneers start the 2021 season against the Ray Texans on August 27.

WR Deuce McGregor, 5-9, 152, Tyler-Chapel Hill Bulldogs: McGregor caught 56 passes for 1266 yards and 10 touchdowns for a Bulldog team that went 8-5 and was a Regional Semifinalist.

Chapel Hill begins its 2021 season on August 27 at Greenville. The kick-off is set for 7 pm.
