He’s got some work to do though with the offense. Just two starters are back from last year. Senior running back Jay Campiti will lead the charge, while sophomore Knox Gage will get the keys to the offense at quarterback. The Tigers also have had to do some reshuffling in the trenches after graduating four all-district offensive linemen. 6’0″, 250-pound guard/center Dillon Wylie will be one of the leaders of that group.
On the other side of the ball, Gunter did get a big-time move-in at linebacker in sophomore Kristopher Grimaldo. He played in Madill, Oklahoma a year ago. Behind him, safety Braeden McDaniel was a first team all-district selection a year ago.
Gunter’s culture has kept the Tigers at the top with five state title game appearances in the last six years. The Tigers have had to deal with a ton of turnover with 36 seniors graduating, but Gill and his guys are ready to prove they have what it takes this fall to make a run at a four-peat.
