High-Stakes Showdown: Panthers vs. Hurricanes
Tomorrow on Thursday night September 14th, 2023 The Ridge Point Panthers (1-2) will play against The Hightower Hurricanes (3-0). Based on all of the Houston area football games during week four this game stands out the most to me because of the talented standouts on these two teams.
Ridge Point has not started the season on a terrific note with losses from The Austin Westlake Chaparrals (3-0) and The Dickinson Gators (2-1) they do have high-ranked athletes. For example, Arkansas commit wide receiver #8 Ashton Bethel-Roman is ranked in the top 20 in Texas and the top 20 wide receiver in the nation. Ashton is fast, nimble, and can catch any pass that is in his vicinity. Baylor commit #3 Mason Dossett is another versatile wide receiver in his own right and #4 Dane Jones is a 3-star junior wide receiver who is currently leading in receptions and yards. With these three outstanding wide receivers quarterback #12 Austin Carlisle has numerous passing routes anyone can see why Ridge Point is usually #1 in their district and always has a great playoff run.
Now on the other hand we have The Hightower Hurricanes which are a huge threat, especially with their 3-0 record currently. They have two highly ranked athletes in Oklahoma commit wide receiver #4 Zion Kearney and TCU commit running back #6 Jeremy Payne. These two-speed demons running on the same offense give any defense a run for their money. In high school football having both a dominant run and passing game is unique.
If I had to give my prediction over this football game I believe this will be an interesting back and forth, but Hightower has an overall stronger team and will continue their win streak to beat out Ridge Point. The final score could be 45-31. Overall I am excited for this game and can’t wait to cover it.
