We have been publishing Player Spotlights this offseason. In each, we ask the players, “What was the highlight of your 2021 football season?” Here are a few of the answers:
Zachary Erickson: Belton High School
Being able to be a part of the Belton Tiger Football Team 600th win.
McCoy Casey: Crosby High School
Scoring an 80-yard fumble recovery touchdown in round 3 of the playoffs
Lafayette Kaiuway: Sam Houston High School
A highlight from last season was when we played our rival school Bowie high school and I got offered by Texas right before the game and I just went off. There was a lot of talking going into the game so I was already on 10 and that just set it off. Went for 3tds and 107 yards.
Connor Stroh: Frisco Wakeland
Beating Highland Park in a late-game 2 point conversion to proceed to the third round of the playoffs.
Jonathan Nelson: Bridgeland High School
Even though we lost it was when I scored 4 touchdowns in 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter that brought us from being down 28-0 to a tie 28-28. Although Cy-ranch came out on top scoring their last drive, that game was a huge highlight of my season.
Jesse Medina: Buda Johnson High School
The highlight of my season was being able to share the field with the seniors who I grew up with one last time.
Latreveon McCutchin: Lyndon B. Johnson Early College High School
Going to the state championship
Makai Williams: School: Byron P Steele II
The feeling of going undefeated in the regular season for the first time since 2016
Nathan Salz, Jr.: Katy Jordan High School
Having the kickoff “Return of the Week” in Dave Campbell’s Texas Football. Link here- Texas: Kickoff Returns from Weekend of Sept 17th, 2021
Anthony James II: Wylie East HS
Being able to just play and not worry about if games would be canceled.
Roy Thomas Jenkins: Kelly Catholic
Leading the team as a freshman
Quaveon “Qua” Davis: Lewisville High School
