Judson Grad Sincere McCormick Standout For Raiders

One of the top waiver wire targets this week is a former Texas high school football standout.

It’s no secret that the Las Vegas Raiders have struggled to run the ball this season. Taking over the starting duties the last two weeks is Sincere McCormick, a former UTSA and Judson grad.

With running backs Alexander Mattison and Zamir White both on IR in recent weeks, McCormick has emerged as a high volume improvement at his position.

In the midst of the Raiders nine game losing streak, McCormick may be one of the team’s only bright spots; in three games, the undrafted halfback has rushed for 175 yards while averaging a solid 5.5 yards per carry.

It’s a good start for the Roadrunners former lead back, who racked up 3,929 rushing yards as well as 34 touchdowns on the ground across three collegiate seasons.

The Raiders seem to believe in what McCormick has to offer, signing him to its 53-man roster a week ago, giving him some security if one or both of White and Mattison is able to return to start later on this season.

Under head coach Sean McAuliffe at Converse Judson, McCormick rushed for 3,407 yards and 43 touchdowns through his career, nabbing first-team All-District 26-6A honors as a senior. Before graduating, he led the Rockets to a 13-1 record, a district championship and the Class 6A Division I quarterfinal round of the playoffs.

McCormick will one again lace up as the starting back in his Monday night football debut against the Atlanta Falcons.
