In a crucial District 19-6A matchup, Katy outlasted Jordan 17-7, powered by a stifling defense and relentless ground attack. Running back Tremayne Hill led Katy with 126 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, while Aqualis Jordan added 103 yards on 20 attempts. The Tigers’ defense limited Jordan to just 65 rushing yards, keeping them from scoring any offensive points. Katy’s only slip came on an interception, which Rocky Alo-Perry returned 82 yards for Jordan’s lone touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Katy (7-1, 6-0) opened the game with a field goal before Gunner Nelson connected with Israel Olotu-Judah on a 25-yard touchdown pass. A 26-yard touchdown run from Hill extended the lead to 17-0 by halftime. Despite Jordan’s late interception return, Katy controlled possession in the second half to seal the win.

Next week, Katy will face the Paetow Panthers. Paetow is 6-1 and 5-0 in District play, coming off of a 37-7 win over Seven Lakes. Jordan will look to bounce back against a 2-5 Taylor Mustangs team.

Reporter Taylor Arenz was at the game, and here are a few of her video updates posted to X:
