Katy made quick work of Clear Falls, cruising to a 51-14 victory in the Class 6A Division II Region III final Saturday at Legacy Stadium.
The Clear Falls Knights came into the game at 8-3 on a four-game winning streak. They just beat Katy Taylor in a low scoring 10-9 game, making it their deepest playoff run. It has fans of the Knights hopeful for an upset, but that would not happen.
The Katy Tigers scored on their first three possessions and had a 23-0 lead going into half-time. The Davis brothers led the way for Katy. Seth Davis ran for 170 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries. Jalen Davis also ran for over 100 yards. Katy totaled 299 yards rushing.
Katy is now 11-1. Their only loss was to Katy Tompkins, 24-19. Tompkins is in 6A Division 1 and was eliminated by North Shore last week. They are on to the UIL State Semifinals to face Buda Hays. Hays just beat Vandegrift, 38-10.
